We Stand Behind Every Detail.
At First Coast Renovations, we believe the quality of your renovation shouldn’t be something you have to wonder about after the crew packs up. That’s why every qualifying project we complete in the State of Florida comes backed by our 5-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty — a straightforward promise that our labor and craftsmanship will hold up, or we’ll make it right at no cost to you.
1. Warranty Term
This warranty covers defects caused by improper installation for a period of five (5) years from the Date of Substantial Completion — meaning the date your project is sufficiently complete for your intended use, as documented in your final invoice or completion notice.
2. What This Warranty Covers
This is a workmanship-only warranty. It applies to labor performed directly by First Coast Renovations or our licensed subcontractors under our supervision. Covered work includes:
- Structural framing and carpentry installation
- Flooring and tile installation failures due to improper labor
- Cabinet installation and mounting
- Drywall finishing defects caused by workmanship
- Interior trim and finish carpentry installation
- Rough plumbing and rough electrical work (labor only)
If a covered defect occurs within the warranty period, First Coast Renovations will — at our discretion — repair or replace the defective workmanship at no labor cost to you.
3. Materials and Manufacturer Warranties
This warranty does not cover defects in materials, fixtures, or products. Many renovation components carry their own manufacturer warranties, including appliances, plumbing fixtures, lighting and electrical devices, cabinetry and countertops, and specialty building products. First Coast Renovations makes no separate warranty for manufacturer-supplied products.
4. What This Warranty Does Not Cover
We’re upfront about what falls outside the scope of this warranty.
A. Normal Wear, Aging, or Home Settling Homes naturally shift over time. This warranty does not cover hairline drywall cracks due to settlement, minor cosmetic changes, caulk or grout discoloration, or natural wood and stone movement caused by humidity or temperature fluctuations.
B. Homeowner Neglect or Lack of Maintenance Coverage may be denied if damage results from failure to properly maintain the renovation — including failure to seal stone or grout as recommended, use of improper cleaning methods or harsh chemicals, inadequate ventilation causing moisture buildup, or failure to address unrelated leaks promptly.
C. Damage Caused by External Events This warranty does not cover damage from flooding, hurricanes, storms, or acts of God; fire, smoke, or environmental hazards; mold or mildew unrelated to defective workmanship; or accidents, misuse, abuse, or pet damage.
D. Work Modified by Others This warranty is void if another contractor alters or repairs the work, the homeowner performs unapproved modifications, or repairs are attempted without written authorization from First Coast Renovations.
5. Limitation of Liability
The sole remedy under this warranty is repair or replacement of defective workmanship. First Coast Renovations shall not be liable for any incidental, indirect, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of use of the home, temporary housing expenses, lost property value, or personal inconvenience.
6. How to File a Warranty Claim
To request warranty service, please:
- Submit your claim in writing within the 5-year warranty period
- Include photographs and a clear description of the issue
- Allow reasonable access to your home for inspection and repair
Warranty repairs will be scheduled based on availability and project urgency. In accordance with Florida Statute §558.004, homeowners must provide written notice and an opportunity to inspect and repair any alleged construction defect prior to initiating legal action.
7. Transferability and Scope
This warranty applies only to the original homeowner at the project address. It is non-transferable unless approved in writing and covers only work included in the signed construction agreement. Work performed outside the agreed scope is not covered.
8. Disclaimer of Additional Warranties
Except as expressly stated in this document, First Coast Renovations disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted under Florida law — including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. No employee or representative may modify this warranty unless the change is made in writing and signed by an authorized officer of First Coast Renovations.
